Global Compact +15 Europe Conference on the Future of Corporate Responsibility and the UN Global Compact in Europe

Berlin | 13-14 October

BerlinThe Foundation of the German Global Compact Network is pleased to host a conference on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the UN Global Compact in Berlin this fall. A few weeks after the Sustainable Development Goals will have been adopted in New York, a few weeks before governments will be negotiating a new climate agreement in Paris, Global Compact +15 Europe brings together European Global Compact Networks, their members and stakeholders to discuss the future of corporate sustainability and of the UN Global Compact in Europe.

With the expected participation of the then newly appointed Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, the conference fosters learning and dialogue between companies and with relevant stakeholders from governments, civil society, business associations and other organizations.

Global Compact Network Romania will participate at this conference.

Europe – Local Networks Regional Meeting

Berlin | 15-16 October

This meeting will bring together the representatives and contact persons of all European Local Networks to exchange best practices and key learnings. The meeting will also serve as a platform where UN Global Compact in New York presents the global updates and allow for a dialogue between headquarters and Local Networks especially on how to advance the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level.

The Regional Meeting will happen after Global Compact +15 Europe (see above), where Global Compact Local Networks in Europe, their participants and stakeholders will come together to discuss the future of corporate sustainability and the UN Global Compact in Europe.

Global Compact Network Romania will participate at this meeting.

Caring for Climate Business Forum

Paris | 7-8 December

Hosted by UN Global Compact, UNEP and UNFCCC secretariat in cooperation with the French COP21/CMP11 incoming-Presidency, the Caring for Climate Business Forum will provide a venue for business and investors to meet with governments, civil society and the UN to advance the climate agenda.

With plenary and thematic sessions and high-level meeting, the Forum will serve as a platform for companies to demonstrate progress and announce new commitments to action.
